Exam Structure

Written examination
Paper 1 — Descriptive — 50 marks — 90 minutes
• Essay writing (not more than 600 words) — 20 marks
• Precis writing — 10 marks
• Kannada to English and English to Kannada translation — 20 marks
Paper 2 — Objective (MCQ) — 100 questions — 150 marks — 90 minutes
• 1.5 marks for each correct answer
• Negative marking: 0.375 mark (25%) for each wrong answer
Total written examination: 200 marks. Both papers are compulsory.
